In the evening hours Munhall #5 went on standby for severe thunderstorms in the area. Multiple bands of storms came through the area producing large amounts of rain, lightning, and hail. Members answered numerous calls involving fire alarm activations, wires and trees down, and flooded roadways.

This past weekend, Munhall VFC #5 hosted a Basic Rigging for Rope Rescue class. Instructors Mike Dortenzo and John Medred went over such items as ropes, hardware, rigging and lowering systems, safety, and knots. Members learned some expanded capabilities of the new tower, as well. We'd like to thank members of Munhall VFC #4 and Whitaker VFC for attending, and also Mike, John, and Bowie for some great instruction. We hope everyone learned some valuable information and had fun, too. In this picture, Lt. Dan Rojtas from Munhall VFC #4 attends to a "patient" being taken of the roof of a building in a rescue simulation. Visit our facebook page for more photos. Photo by Ken Dixon
