Munhall Volunteer Fire Company # 5 (Allegheny County Station 204) is one of five departments within the Borough of Munhall, located on Whitaker Way in Munhall Gardens. We are an all volunteer department, and we responded to 173 calls in 2008. Our company was charted on April 1st, 1939 and today we have grown to a department with over 35 active members, a ladder truck, engine, and a two support (squad) vehicles. Our station has five vehicle bays, is two stories and has such amenities as lounge/day room with TV and pool table, bunk room, shower facilities, two kitchens and a social hall for meetings and hall rentals. Weekly training is Thursdays at 7pm, and our monthy business meeting is the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm Interested in joning? We're always looking for more members to compliment our growing ranks! Our members have a wide range of age, ability, and background. Basic requirements are - Mimimum age of 16 (Junior members cannot perform certain duties till 18) Resident of Allegheny County No felony or arson convictions Subject to background check
All training is free and provided. Some basic firefighting course inlcude: CPR/First Aid, State Essentials of Firefighting classes, Hazardous Materials, Engine and Truck Company Operations.
